23 - 30 MAY 2020
Welcome to the island where music is life. This cultural island paradise gives you the real deal. Skip the all-inclusive beachside resorts and get stuck into an authentic journey. Led by locals, our Jamaica cross-island experience will take you to secret spots, delicious food tastings, unspoilt waterfalls and genuine interactions. Get ready to be blown away by the Real Jamaica with the Wind Collective.
Wake up in time to catch our sunrise photoshoot then head over to Negril on Jamaica’s western strip. We’ll lounge on the famous 7-mile beach, a white-sand paradise. Spend your day snorkelling, cliff jumping or catching a tan before lunch. We’ll head to the world-famous Rick’s Cafe, a bar set atop a cliff, for sunset rum cocktails/mocktails. Dusk signals the end of our time at Rick’s Cafe but not without witnessing a psychedelic sunset sinking beneath the horizon.
After breakfast, we’ll transfer downtown to explore a local market before heading over to Trench Town Culture Yard - Bob Marley’s old home. Have lunch near by at a local spot, drink some tasty Island soup or eat some festivals. Don't fill yourself up too much because we'll prepare for our creative photoshoot. Dress in your best attire to be snapped by our creative team. After, we'll head over to Devon House Heritage Site - the home of Jamaica’s first black millionaire George Steibel. Don’t forget to try the famous ice cream sold here! Tonight, we’ll be ‘vybzing’ Jamaican style at a ‘Ghetto man skank dancehall party’. Dance the night away & end it with smoky jerk chicken & an ice-cold Red Stripe beer!
Arrive in Montego Bay, the capital of Saint James Parish on Jamaica’s north coast. Be sure to have your swimsuit at the top of your suitcase for easy access. The vibe begins on Doctor's Cave Beach Club; one of the most famous beaches in Jamaica. You'll get to relax on the white sand beach, take a sip of rum punch, get your tan on and swim in the crystal clear turquoise water. Here you'll connect with other members of our travel community joining you for 8 days of adventure, creativity. 'riddim and vibes'. Then shoot off to our accommodation until our Jamaican welcome dinner commences.
Start the day with a traditional Jamaican breakfast, before our short road trip to Ocho Rios. There’s nowhere else for a tropical adventure at some of the world’s best waterfalls! After a traditional Jamaican lunch, we’ll be packing up and heading to Kingston for a different kind of adventure.
Rise and shine for an off the beaten track adventure along the coast ride to the untouched parish of St Thomas. Remember to pack enough snacks for the ride or be prepared to buy snacks along the way. We’ll be driving into the mountains to a spot that mostly only locals know about. Here you’ll do a short trek to a flowing river that meets therapeutic boiling water flowing from a rock. You'll get a story on the runaway slaves by the famous Rasta. It’s your choice to explore or grab a massage from our local masseuse Pat on the rocks. Make sure not to leave without grabbing a bottle of pure coconut oil for your skin and hair. We'll stop by Cotton Tree Square, Port Morant where we’ll prepare our authentic ital Rastafarian Lunch by the famous Richie Royal. Then head further East to Portland.
Our final day in Jamaica. Wrap up the week with the community with a reflection session, looking back and sharing your favourite experiences from the week. We’ll prepare transfers for any time you need to get to the airport. If you have time, stop by Montego Bay centre to grab some souvenirs for friends and family as proof that you really came, saw and lived your best life in Jamaica! If you choose to extend your trip in the Caribbean, let us know!
Get away from it all in Port Antonio - Jamaica’s lush green parish. With charming backstreets of markets, and untouched beaches, this is the place for an authentic experience. We'll explore Port Antonio old town before heading over to Jamaica’s Blue Lagoon and Winnifred beach for a free afternoon exploring. At sunset, we’ll be making our way back to Montego Bay for our final night on this island paradise.
One of our missions at the Wind Collective is ‘to be a travelling community that impacts local communities’. This trip is no different and a chance for us to make a difference with a local Jamaican initiative through our Give Back Session at an orphanage. We’ll spend time with the kids there and bring school equipment and daily necessities. After our GBS, we will take a quick ride and check out an ancient fishing village, infamously known as pirates settlement in Port Royal. Be prepared for our transfer to the eastern section of the island.
